1923 Henderson ‘K Model Deluxe ‘ with sidecar – FOR SALE

This restored K model Henderson Deluxe is currently being sold via blind auction. The deadline for bidding is AEST 18:00pm on Wednesday 30th August 2017. All bids must be submitted in writing and emailed to [email protected] by this deadline. For additional information about this sale process, please see our how to purchase link above. The bike can be viewed during museum opening hours at the National Motor racing Museum in Bathurst, NSW or via this recent video.

The motorcycle with sidecar outfit was restored back in the 1980s and was fully operational. It was taken on a number of rallies with the family on board. In between rallies, it was housed in Kevin’s garage until 2011 when it was moved to its current display stand at the National Motor Racing Museum in Bathurst.

The motorcycle has sustained minor damage from a leaking battery (which has since been removed from the battery case) and from an article recently falling onto the paintwork on the front mudguard.

1914 -15 Henderson ‘Long Tank’ project – SOLD

This very early 1914-15 detroit model Henderson ‘long-tank’ project is an extremely rare and desirable collection that Kevin had been building on for many years. It includes an original hub in near perfect conditon, a complete original engine with carburetor attached and the parts for a second engine including manifolds. The fenders/mudguards are original along with the handlebars and various other parts. We are including a magneto, headlight, seat and early Corbin speedo with long cable. Once restored, this will be one of the world’s rare and desirable motorcycles.

Note that the front forks were made approximately 15 years ago and it is likely that Kevin built the tank. It is possible that the frame is one that Kevin modified from a slightly later model (extended to make it longer, see photo). The footboard has been recently cast.

This collection is being sold as seen in the photographs. There will be no viewing as the parts are now in storage.

This is being sold under blind auction. There has already been interest in this collection so we expect serious offers only. Please email us your offer in $AU by the 17:00 (AEST) deadline of September 30th, 2016 to [email protected].

More information about this process can be found on the How to Purchase page.  As usual, this is a ‘blind’ auction so we do not publicize the offers we receive or the sold price so please do not ask us for this.

1921-23 Henderson K Deluxe Engine and parts – SOLD

Henderson K Deluxe Engine and spare parts 1921-1923

Collected as spares for one of Kevin over many years for his Deluxe outfit. They are now being sold separately as a single lot.

Online Auction via our Ebay page – follow this link.

Auction closes Saturday 25th of July, at 8pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.

1914/15 Douglas 2 3/4 hp – SOLD

This is a veteran Douglas motorcycle that had been bought by Kevin as a complete bike. It was subsequently partly disassembled as he commenced work on it. He had worked on the engine and tank and these have now been put back into the frame for these photos. Other parts and spares are in the accompanying crates and incudes additional cylinder barrels, unused tyres (for display), a second veteran magneto, 1914 gearbox case, Douglas nuts and bolts, mudguard stays, reproduction pannier cases, headlight stay clamps, newly nickeled levers etc.

The frame on this bike is dated as 1915 and the engine number is consistent with 1914.  It will require some work to get it on the road including a fix on the central shaft of the handlebars,  attachment of the front brake, sourcing of footboard holders, restoration of the headlight stays etc. However, most of the major parts are present and in good condition.

This is a lovely little veteran project and will be a great bike for rallies when it is completed.

Please note that there is only one carburettor- the one shown attached to the engine is the same one in the parts display photo.

This bike  is currently for sale on ebay. A second 1914 engine is also for sale on ebay.

1924 Harley Davidson JE project starter – SOLD

Engine number: 24JE 1485

Parts for a 1924 JE model Harley Davidson including frame, forks, wheel, hub, 2x 1200cc barrels, flywheels, crank cases, chain cover, ignition coil (photographed separately) partial battery box cover, front and rear mudguards, oil pump, cages and various other smaller engine parts.

The frame is still in reasonably good condition with its grease and mud covering helping to protect the metal from severe rust.

This is either an excellent starter kit for someone looking to build an early Harley Davidson or would be great spares for someone.

This collection was sold on ebay in October, 2014.

1929 Velocette KTT engine parts – SOLD

Engine no: KTT153

It is a shame this was never built but the makings of a wonderful 1929 KTT 350cc engine are here below.

The KTT was a production racer built by the Veloce factory in Birmingham for the Isle of Man TT. Only 1000 were made over a 20 year period starting in 1929. It is said that these were the most successful 350cc race bikes in their day. This engine is from one of the earliest models.

The parts available for this engine are all shown below and it includes a barrel, 2 flywheels, cases, new and original pistons, racing carburetor etc. It will be sold through  ebay. The start date for the ebay sale is Thursday 25th September 2014. It is planned to end 10 days later.

CORRECTION: due to ebay pulling the item listing down and it having to be re-listed, this ebay auction now ends in the early hour of 07 Oct, 2014, at 00:11:37 AEDST (ie. you will need to be bidding around midnight AEDST on Monday the 6th October)

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Velocette fan or a classic racing enthusiast to acquire the makings of a renowned motor and either start on the creation of their own KTT or to add to an existing frame.

Having handled these parts myself to photograph them, I would also like to add that you can really see the craftsmanship that went into making them all those years ago – beautiful alloys and precision made pieces. Stunning.

1938 Royal Enfield S2 project bike – SOLD

Engine Number: tba

A fairly complete Royal Enfield project bike. This is a light-weight 250cc OHV from 1938 in original condition (apart from one primed rear mudguard and a new exhaust). It includes an original tank and a restored chrome painted tank (not a new or replica tank). Kevin had been slowly developing this project for over 20 years.

The S2 was the deluxe model 250cc produced by the Royal Enfield factory. It includes a Terry seat, luggage rack, rear registration and tail light plate, headlight, toolbox, Smiths speedo, horn and horn button, etc.

This will be a great restoration/rebuild project for someone wanting a reasonably rare and early, original, Royal Enfield. Historically, this bike was manufactured just as war was breaking out in Europe and at a time when the manufacture of Deluxe motorcycles in England was about to give way to the war efforts.

It includes the parts photographed plus some additional spares (photos still to be uploaded) and a 1938 Royal Enfield catalogue.

This bike was sold in October, 2014 to a lovely guy who is going to restore it and love it.
